Dad On His Deathbed

I was working from home on my computer when my stepmom texted me to tell me that today might be dad´s last day alive. He’d been battling brain cancer for over a year at this point, and the last time I had seen him, only two weeks ago at Christmas, he was mostly nonverbal and bound to a wheelchair. On the worst days, he couldn’t even lift his arms to scratch an itch or lift a spoon to feed himself.
