On January 10th of 2023, my father, Luis Gomez, died of a glioblastoma brain tumor at the young age of sixty-five.
Next to him were my stepmom and stepsister and his male nurse of the same name.
In the months leading up to his death, he had progressively lost his ability to take care of himself and become fully dependent on those around him to eat, shower, and use the restroom.
